Fanfare for O

Fanfare for O was commissioned for the Olathe East High School Symphonic Band for their performances at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City and at Chicago Symphony Center. I consider it a great honor to have been asked by my alma mater to compose this fanfare. The composition is a tribute to the many excellent teachers I had as a student in the Olathe School District, particularly those who taught music. The ‘O’ from the title refers to Olathe of course, but it was also written during an exciting period of my life as my wife and I were awaiting the birth of our first child, Oliver. Fanfare for O was premiered the day after his birth.
